Privacy Policy
How Go Business Valuation collects, uses and protects information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

1. Who we are
Go Business Valuation (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates gobusinessvaluation.com, which gives indicative asking price ranges for businesses in New Zealand and Australia. We handle information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles, wherever you use the site from, and with the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.
2. What we collect
There is no sign-up. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or business name.
- The figures you enter: country, business type, region, revenue, earnings and whether the price includes property, with the result we produced.
- A visitor identifier: a random ID kept in a cookie in your browser, so valuations can be counted and your results can be shown back to you.
- Technical information: your browser type and a one-way, shortened hash of your IP address (not the address itself), used to count visitors and stop abuse.
- Usage events: which steps of the form were used, so we can see where people drop off.
3. How we use it
To produce and show your result, to prevent abuse, to measure how the site is used in aggregate, and to maintain, secure and improve the service, including checking our ranges stay accurate. We do not use the figures you enter to identify you or your business, and we do not sell them.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent information. We share it only with service providers that host and run the site, who may use it only to provide those services to us, or where the law requires it.
5. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to keep information secure. It is held on cloud infrastructure that may be outside New Zealand; where it is, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable safeguards apply.
6. How long we keep it, and your rights
We keep valuation records and usage events while they are useful for running and improving the service. Because we do not collect names or contact details, we usually cannot link a record to you, but if you give us your result link we can find and delete it. Under the Privacy Act you may ask for access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you. Email admin@gobusinessvaluation.com. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
7. Cookies
We use one cookie that is strictly necessary to count valuations and show your results. We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other sites. You can clear it at any time; result links you have saved still work.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed. See also our Terms of Use.
